Hydration for Runners

Hydration for runners can be a bit challenging finding a balance between getting enough to drink without having to make frequent stops. Here are some tips to help with hydration and exercise..

Hydration for Runners

What Are Good Forms of Hydration?

You will want to experiment with hydration on your training runs so you don't get to a marathon or other race and become sick because the hydration makes you sick.

Some good forms of hydration are watered-down Gatorade and NUUN. I personally like vitamin water or Emergency powdered drink mixed into my water.

Be careful if you're drinking caffeine to give you energy for your run because caffeine dehydrates.

How Do You Carry Your Drink?

There are several types of hydration packs. The most common ones are back packs made just for runners, fuel belts and hand held water bottles that have a strap to make carrying it while you're running easier.

Dealing with Hydration Bladder Issues

How do you avoid having to make frequent stops to the porta-potties or bushes, thus messing with your PR? Here are a few tips.
