Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred Great Overall Workout

by Anna

The Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred Workout DVD is a great 20 minute full body workout that will leave you feeling sore in a good way.

It has 3 different levels and although I take pride in being pretty fit (I run marathons, train in the hills of Central Park pushing my jogging stroller, I also carry said jogging stroller up many flights of subway stairs per day), level 1 usually kicks my butt!

I especially like it as a runner because you do squats and lunges which are really good for the upper legs, helping to strengthen them, thereby avoiding running injuries.

You won't get bored with this workout, Jillian does segments of 2 minutes cardio, 3 minutes strength training and one minute abs. She also combines various strength training exercises at once to help break a sweat and have a more affective workout (gota make the most of those 20 minutes!).

The only thing I don't like about this workout is Jillian's annoying phrases like, "You don't get to call it in!" that can be really annoying when you're trying to focus on fun things like push-ups.

That said, I have yet to buy a workout DVD where the instructor does not annoy me in one way or another. I think I just don't like to hear people talking to me when I'm trying to workout.

But since you're expected to do this workout ever day for 30 days to see significant results, you'll have the moves memorized after a few tries and can just put it on mute and play your own music.

Oh and speaking of, I don't use this every day, more like 1-3 days a week to supplement my running and help me get in some strength training.
