Love Stories About Running
When did you fall in love with running?
This is a page for love stories about running. Isn't it great to remember and fall in love all over again while remembering! Please do share! Here's mine.
It was Central Park in June of 2006, when the sun is finally out to stay, but the sweltering summer heat has not yet born down.
I was running in a 5 mile Father's Day race put on by NYRR. I had been running outside for a few months now. Until then, I'd only occasionally run on the treadmill at the gym.
I remember running around the corner at the 90th Street Park entrance, enjoying the trees, sun, and other runners, walkers, tanners, pick-nickers, even the bikers as they spead by shouting, "To your left!"
I realized that the finish line was less than a mile away and I hadn't even noticed the mile markers (normally I would look out for them, and they seemed to take forever to show up!). On my iPod was playing that 70's rock song, "I Fooled Around and Fell in Love," and it was in this moment I realized, I was in love with running.
