Starting from Scratch

by Leighann

I was a Real Runner before I had Baby A. I ran collegiately and continued all the way through my pregnancy. I even squeezed in 4 miles the day Baby A was born. But then I got sick - While in the hospital I contracted a nasty bug and it took 3 months to get healthy again. I was told I could start running again, but every time I try, I feel really sick - Maybe I started too quickly? It is hard to tell. I am now running a mere 2 miles just a couple of times a week, and I can't believe how slow I am going and how hard it seems.I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but still feel tired... soooo tired when running. I wonder if it could be from breastfeeding - Baby A is now 6 months old, and is still pretty much exclusively breastfed. Did anyone else find that breastfeeding makes running more difficult? I wonder if I will ever feel like a runner again =(

I don't think you should start running so early. It may hurt you. You are in no position to do this now. I think you should also consult a doctor. It may be dangerous, you know.
